Maltina Teacher of the Year Contest Commences
Morgan asserts that teachers are not celebrated despite the crucial role they play in nurturing youths and shaping the future of the country.
She pointed out that over the years, the company had impacted education sector across levels and promised to do more.
The company chief disclosed that the overall winner would go home with a total of N6.5m, a plaque and certificate.
She said while the grand winner would go home with N1 million as a national champion and another N500, 000 as a state champion on the day of the award ceremony in October where he or she would be unveiled, the person would also be paid N1 million yearly for the next five years.
Similarly, the school the winner represented would get a block of six classrooms or laboratory depending on its needs.
She added that the winner, who must be certified by Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) would also be entitled to all-expenses-paid training programme abroad.
Morgan also noted that while the first and second runners-up would receive N1 million and N750, 000 respectively, plus another N500, 000 as state champions, other state winners would also go home with N500, 000 each

he urged them to use their network to reach out to teachers across the country by notifying them about this year’s edition to drive massive participation.
Representatives of the various associations, who spoke at the flag-off ceremony, commended Nigerian Breweries for staying committed to the project and promised to do all they could to ensure success of this year’s event.
In their separate remarks, registrar of TRCN, Prof Josiah Ajiboye, who joined virtually and national treasurer of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Mr Segun Raheem, said the initiative is a rewarding experience for teachers and teaching profession.
They enjoined other corporate bodies to take a cue from Nigeria Breweries to invest in education to take Nigeria out of poverty.
Ajiboye added that investment in human capital is the best by any country to attain economic greatness.
